Como cada año, Tierra del Sur participó de la Maratón Nacional de Lectura, un evento que invita a todas las escuelas, bibliotecas, jardines, centros y plazas de todo el país a sumarse a una jornada de lectura simultánea. Bajo el lema «De lo asombroso a lo imposible: cuando las puertas de lo fantástico se abren», más de 4.300.000 niños, jóvenes y adultos celebramos la lectura rodeados de historias, autores y seres fantásticos.
En Nivel Inicial aprovechamos para explorar el mundo de la fantasía, los seres imposibles y la imaginación con proyectos muy divertidos. Entre otras actividades, escuchamos atentos los relatos de Winnie the witch, el famoso personaje creado por Valerie Thomas, representamos el clásico Ricitos de oro en teatro de sombras y nos deleitamos con historias en Kamishibai, una técnica de teatro en papel de origen japonés. Sumergiéndonos en mundos fantásticos y tomando como punto de partida este género que nos da la posibilidad de jugar, creamos y recreamos personajes con los cuales compartir historias y aventuras. ¡Fue una verdadera fiesta fantástica!
Para esta edición, en Nivel Primario abordamos la temática propuesta sobre la base del fomento a la diversidad de voces y géneros literarios. En un día dedicado a la exploración de mundos imaginarios y al poder transformador de la palabra impresa, montamos en las aulas una muestra ambientada y nos reunimos para escuchar la narración de cuentos seleccionados para representar cada género. Además, los alumnos confeccionaron antifaces a partir de las características de los personajes que encontraron en cada uno de los géneros trabajados.
Gracias a esta iniciativa y a la posibilidad de adentrarnos en el maravilloso mundo de la lectura por placer, uno de los ejes transversales de la misión de Tierra del Sur, promovemos la lectura como una actividad social que puede unir a las comunidades y fomentar la creatividad y el pensamiento crítico.

21st National Reading Marathon
As in previous years, Tierra del Sur participated in the National Reading Marathon, an event that invites all schools, libraries, and other public centers throughout the country to join in a day of simultaneous reading. Under the slogan «From the amazing to the impossible: when the doors of the fantastic open», more than 4,300,000 children, teenagers and adults celebrated reading surrounded by stories, authors and fantastic beings.
In Kindergarten we took the opportunity to explore the world of fantasy, impossible beings and imagination with some very fun projects. Among other activities, we listened attentively to the stories of Winnie the witch, the famous character created by Valerie Thomas, we represented the classic Goldilocks in shadow theater and we delighted ourselves with stories in Kamishibai, a paper theater technique of Japanese origin. Immersing ourselves in fantastic worlds and considering this genre that gives us the possibility to play, we created and recreated characters with which to share stories and adventures. It was a truly fantastic party!
For this edition, in Primary Level we approached the proposed subject on the basis of promoting the diversity of voices and literary genres. On a day dedicated to the exploration of imaginary worlds and the transforming power of the printed word, we set up a set display in the classrooms and gathered to listen to the narration of stories selected to represent each genre. In addition, the students made masks based on the characteristics of the characters they found in each of the genres they worked on.
Thanks to this initiative and the possibility of entering the wonderful world of reading for pleasure, one of the transversal pillars of Tierra del Sur’s mission, we promote reading as a social activity that can bring communities together and foster creativity and critical thinking.
