El martes 11 de julio, Tierra del Sur abrió sus puertas a toda la comunidad de nivel secundario. Nuestro tradicional Open House se llevó a cabo en los salones de clase del ciclo básico y ciclo superior, donde los estudiantes de cada año prepararon presentaciones en base a tópicos que estuvieron trabajando a lo largo del primer cuatrimestre del ciclo lectivo 2023.
Los chicos decoraron las aulas, armaron stands, desplegaron materiales y organizaron actividades para compartir con los padres sus proyectos de biología, matemática, historia, geografía, arte e inglés. Un bingo matemático, una muestra de esculturas, una presentación de product development y experimentos científicos fueron solo algunas de las exposiciones que pudimos disfrutar.
Este tipo de encuentros son muy valiosos para los alumnos, ya que tienen la oportunidad de enseñar a sus padres el colegio y las aulas e informarles de las actividades, proyectos y tareas que han realizado. Por su parte, los padres se informan sobre el plan de estudios, las asignaturas y pueden también hablar con los profesores sobre los progresos, necesidades y capacidades de sus hijos. Creemos que un open house es la mejor manera de que los padres conozcan mejor cómo transcurre la jornada escolar a través de los ojos de sus hijos.
Felicitamos a los chicos y profesores por el excelente trabajo que realizaron para que este encuentro fuera posible y agradecemos a todos los padres que se acercaron a compartir la mañana con nosotros. Estamos convencidos de que estas iniciativas que hacemos en comunidad contribuyen a una mejor comunicación, enseñanza y aprendizaje para todos.

On Tuesday, July 11, Tierra del Sur opened its doors to the entire high school community. Our traditional Open House was held in the classrooms of the junior and senior levels, where students from each year prepared presentations based on topics they were working on during the first quarter of the 2023 school year.
The children decorated the classrooms, set up stands, displayed materials and organized activities to share their biology, mathematics, history, geography, art and English projects with parents. A math bingo, a sculpture exhibition, a product development presentation and science experiments were just some of the expositions we were able to enjoy.
These types of meetings are very meaningful for the students, as they have the opportunity to show their parents around the school and the classrooms, and inform them of the activities, projects and assignments they have completed. On the other hand, parents learn about the curriculum, subjects and can also talk to teachers about their children’s progress, needs and abilities. We believe that an open house is the best way for parents to learn more about the school day through the eyes of their own children.
We would like to congratulate students and teachers for their excellent work in making this meeting possible and we thank all the parents who came to share their morning with us. We are convinced that these community initiatives contribute to better communication, teaching and learning for everyone.
